Dermaflage, the brand known for innovative concealment products has put together an exciting stage for this year’s Los Angeles IMATS. Two students were selected by Oscar Award winning makeup artist Ve Neill to take on Andrew Velazquez, finalist on the hit television show American Beauty Star and instructor at Cinema Makeup School.

“I love the idea of doing something to promote Cinema Makeup School after finishing American Beauty Star. I hope to inspire young people to be their most confident and reach their goals,” said Andrew Velazquez. “Partnering with Dermaflage was perfect for me- I love what their products do and I love that the brand is all about confidence.”

Velazquez and his two challengers, Bella Meza and Channing Carlisle will have just 30 minutes to complete their corrective makeups on models with challenging skin issues such as dark undereye circles, piercing holes, acne scaring, tattoos and redness. Adamme The Beauty Warrior, beauty red carpet host will emcee the event while judges Ve Neill, Angie Davis and Kevin James Bennett critique the application techniques and select a winner.

The winner receives $1,000 in Cinema Makeup School scholarship, a $600 certificate to Nigel Beauty Emporium, plus more.

“We really wanted to do something exciting and different this year for IMATS LA,” said Dermaflage Founder Jocelyn Atkinson. “We are launching Behind the Scenes, a new line of corrective concealers at the show and we thought it would be cool to collaborate with Andrew and Cinema Makeup School to produce something that is both entertaining and educational.”

The Dermaflage corrective product line was developed to solve some of the beauty industry’s most difficult skin challenges. Known for bringing special effects technology to beauty, Dermaflage has modified special effects formulations to launch a breakthrough concealer palette that is both waterproof and transfer resistant in a full range of skin tones.  No setting powder or spray needed.
